I was shopping for a soundbar for my new TV and went to the store to test them. I was able to narrow down my choices to the Klipsch, Polk or JBL. Why not one of the other brands, because of the sound. These brands dont just use two full range speakers, they also have tweeters and they sound much clearer and not muffled. LG came in close and I was thinking about the Yamaha, but it was not available, and the JBL was on sale. The JBL had the best overall quality and features I was looking for in my price range. What I liked was the size, looks and the sound quality. The JBL had the best audio range, the voices where clear and crisp, the bass was not overpowering or muddy. There is a scrolling screen that displays the functions, not just a light on the buttons. It works with my TV and FIOS remote automatically one thing that made me get it over the Yamaha. I turned the volume down on both the soundbar and TV to 0 and just use my FIOS remote. This way I see the volume display on the soundbar and TV match up. I dont use the sound on the TV. I have my Sub level at 15, max is 20, I have no issues with the bass. When you listen in the store the bass is all the way down, when you first install it you have to raise the level, it is set very low out of the box. The Sub-woofer looks nice and is compact, synced right away. I am very happy with the looks and sound from this soundbar. It has lots of features and settings to change the sound quality.

I set this thing up in less than 10 minutes. I do not like to read instructions, and got everything working quickly. Remote buttons are not overwhelming and functions are easy to understand. I LOVE the lit display on the Bar to see what changes i am making on the remote (such as volume up and surround sound mode). - WHY DID I TAKE BACK? Because I loved it so much that I decided to go get the 3.1 model instead. if the 2.1 sounds this good, then I am going to spend the extra $100 for the upgrade! (Wife will deal with me later) BASS - deep and fills the room. I give it a 5 star review because for $199 this is great! its better than my OLD Sony Surround that cost me $800 and had wires all over the place. Bluetooth from my phone took about 5 seconds to setup and about 1 second for me to figure it out. Super easy to use and sound was sharp. I did not even sync the remote to the TV!! it worked out of the box. I only did ONE thing besides power and connections. I hit a button on the back of the sub-woofer to sync it (and that was an instinct, may have been synced at the factory). Negative - NONE -> I upgraded two days later to the 3.1 You will not regret this purchase and you will not find a better sound bar (unless you spend an extra $500 on the high end items).

I bought this based on the reviews, the looks, and the sale price. I live in a condominium so I could not get a full home theater. The JBL 2.1 did the trick and I was not disappointed. It took 10 minutes to set up. It comes with an HDMI and an optical sound cable so I did not need to buy anything extra. Batteries for the remote were also included. I connected the optical sound cable to my Samsung television and the remote for the television worked to raise and lower the volume without having to do any programming. The sound quality for music and television viewing are clear and the voices are crisp. It sound bar has surround sound and stereo modes. I pretty much listen to everything from sports, movies, tv, and Bluetooth to my iPhone in the surround sound mode with the bass cranked up all the way. Surprisingly, considering the size of the subwoofer, the system does lack bass. I will have to experiment with moving the base module around the apartment to see if it can be improved.

I was replacing a 17 year old Bose 321 series home entertainment system. I was not very familiar with the sound bar concept and wasn’t totally sure I was going to like the sound quality as compared to a conventional 2 speaker setup but the associate was very helpful and very patient while I listened in the store. Not the best environment for listening for sound quality. So I gave it a shot and brought it home based on past experience with JBL for in car stereos. I am very impressed with the sound quality. My living room space is 17’ x 18’ and it fills the space well. The bass response is excellent. I have the bass set at 12 of 20. The voice quality of television shows seem to come through loud and clear. You can choose different sound settings and I leave it on the Movie setting which, for me, seems to be the best overall sound for music or television. Moral of the story: don’t judge by the sound quality in the store.

Very nice sound. Gets louder than needed for our medium sized living room. Base is great for the room too! When comparing sound at best buy this was a little deceiving because the sound was at 30 compared to the one next to it was at 75 and this one was louder. But that was only because this one's volume Max is out at 45(so for everyone that you turn up the volume on this, it turns up the TV volume by two, yes I know TV volume does not matter but just something to consider). Volume around 25 on this is plenty loud enough for my living room.

Very good sound quality for the price. I was surprised at how well the bass sounded on this sound system especially for the low price when compared with other soundbar/subwoofer combos. I would definitely recommend for anyone that likes to watch action movies or play video games.

I have this soundbar and then another one that is Samsung and this one is far superior, and the price was quite less than the Samsung. Rich, all encompassing surround sound and it looks really cool how the display shows through the speaker holes. Very cool.

Easy setup. Automatically synched with bass and tv. Mounting it to a tv that was already mounted was frustrating but that's no reflection of the product itself. Very nice sound. Terrific improvement over tv's speakers. Bass could have a little more punch but honestly, I rarely crank it all the way up because I use that tv at night and don't want to disturb my neighbors, and it definitely could. Well worth the money!

Got it during the Black Friday sale. Very easy to setup, and looks great aesthetically. Had to use an HDMI cable (does NOT come in the box) for the connection. I'll break down the review into pros and cons. Pros: Great overall sound quality with mind-blowing bass. You'll be surprised what you get for the price. Connects easily with my LG TV and with my phone via bluetooth. Cons: The optical cable that came in the box was bad. The connection was very loose and did not work with my TV. Luckily, I had a spare HDMI cable and would highly recommend you to have the same. Also, the surround sound mode could have been a bit better. Overall, I highly recommend this soundbar. My experience has been elevated like never before and I enjoy using it every single time.

Let me start off by saying I basically bought this unit based on my love for my JBL 3.1 system that sits in my great room. I have a review for that one too. So for any of you others that are buying this 2.1 based on that one, let me tell you they are different in one main way. While the bar is essentially the same, the woofer production is not. My 3.1 has a ten inch and boy is she precise and hard hitting. So naturally I expected this unit to produce a similar experience but in a lower wattage. Don’t get me wrong, for a bedroom the system is perfect. Highs are good and the base is adequate. I ride with the base level at its maximum. It’s the only way I get any pleasure. It’s probably because I have such an awesome experience with the 3.1. The base from that one makes all the Walls shake. Note to buyers. It is not fully 4k. You get basic 4k since the hdmi is only 1.4. Hooked this one up to my LG ultra 65 inch 4k and she works like a charm. Synced right up. No need to program remotes. 4/5 guys. Don’t hesistate to buy.

I would consider myself a person that loves good clean audio. Brands such as Focal are usually my go to brands. This JBl setup is awesome. The sound clarity is probably going to be better than any audio coming from the TV only regardless of how much the TV cost. I have mines connected via an optical cable which is what I would recommend for best sound quality. The bass is set to about 40% and is more than enough for casual TV or Movies. The user interface is fairly simple and does not require alot working with. This should be standard equipment with any new TV purchase.

Starting off with the bad. It was hard to figure out how to sync the bass to the bar. I had to go on youtube to get it figured out. Besides the difficult syncing the bar and bass are very great for the price. I bought this for my new monitor which I game on. The bass is very nice and light. I really add the realism feeling. Overall its great for its price. I would buy this before anything cheaper. Stretch your dollar and get this JBL over the cheaper systems.

This is the 2nd sound bar I had purchased. Installation was easy connecting to my Samsung smart tv. My initial mistake on my first purchase was that I did not buy Samsung, the sound bar was a different brand and it was not connecting to my tv. Tried everything, called Geek Squad and it did not work so I bought the Samsung sound bar. I’ll never do that again! Anyway, the sound bar sounds amazing, it’s sleek and worth every penny.

This JBL sound bar sounds great, even better than my Sony table top sound system which has two sub speakers underneath it. This sound bar is really load and has some deep base. I can keep turning it up and the sound keeps going up. The Sony sound system stops getting loud half way up. The JBL sound bar was a cheaper price plus I got it on sale. One bad thing is the JBL only has one HDMI input. I had to purchase an HDMI switch.
