- Answer Thanks for your question. Our JBL Xtreme 5 uses Auracast, while our JBL Charge 5 utilizes PartyBoost. Since these two technologies are not compatible, you won’t be able to pair them together. If you're looking for speakers that can pair with the JBL Charge 5, you may want to check out our Flip 6, Xtreme 3, or Boombox 3, which all support PartyBoost. Alternatively, if you're looking for speakers to pair with the JBL Xtreme 5, you can check out our Charge 6 or Boombox 4, which utilize Auracast.

QuestionWhat is the wattage on the extreme 5?

- Answer Thank you for your inquiry. The wattage for our JBL Xtreme 5 is 1 x 90W RMS woofer + 2 x 20W RMS tweeter in AC power mode, and 1 x 60W RMS woofer + 2 x 15W RMS tweeter in battery mode.

- Answer Thank you for your inquiry. Our JBL Boombox 5 has a maximum power output of 130W RMS when plugged into AC power (90W woofer + 2 x 20W tweeters) and 90W RMS while running on battery power (60W woofer + 2 x 15W tweeters).

QuestionTo ask the question more directly, does this come with the cable required to allow the speaker to step up to full wattage? There have already been videos showing that a similarly powered block will not allow the speaker to access the full output.

In the US, our JBL Xtreme 5 includes the official 80W power adapter and USB-C cable required to unlock its maximum output. While international versions may not trigger this higher power mode, the US retail package ensures you have the specific hardware needed to access the speaker's full wattage right out of the box.
