• A:Answer Yes, I had this done by the installers in my island. They cut the hole in the island further back on the sides by three inches to each side. Caveat: your cooktop space must be big enough to be made significantly bigger. And your under countertop space needs to be big enough also.

• A:Answer Yes, they are definitely Solid Metal. Excellent finish. We are certainly enjoying our New Cook Jenn Air Gas Cook Top. Our first one (it was electric) lasted for over 40 Years!! Of course we had to change switch knobs and the pluggable electric cartridges.
