A:Answer I suggest instead the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD Plus 3. It is available at Best Buy and their local store had the best price of anyone. I use it with my Sony DCR-TRV 740 and my old VHS VCR. Works well with both. It comes with software on CD that is needed. It took a little tweaking to get the installation correct, but now I am transferring old video form both machines and posting them on YouTube. You can burn a DVD or transfer the video to your hard drive for editing or just archiving. I prefer to use the S-video out on both my camcorder and VCR over the yellow RCA video connection. I purchased an extension S-video cable, and extension RCA cables even though I have a laptop.
