“How do I power this off without unplugging it? The power button doesn't work; nothing I do will make this turn off (to save electricity or for safety etc)! I have to unplug it from the wall outlet.”

Hold your finger on the off/on symbol on the little screen for a couple of seconds turns it off and on.

Hold the coffee pot or cup icon down (which everyone you're using) till it's light goes out. I was unplugging it each time as well. Who knew?..lol

I have been unable to find a power switch, so we plug and unplug when using it.

You cannot. I have one and encountered the same issue. Unless you unplug it, you are stuck with it being on all the time.
