The mixer bowl is the chiller. Per the manual - It must be in the freezer 15 hours before each use. No additional ice is required. The liquid ingredients must also be chilled for no less than six hours for a successful operation. So, given the required preparation that is required of this attachment, it is not really qualified as a spur the moment, “Hey! Let’s make some ice cream!“ device. It’s not as handy as you may like it to be. But, it does the job quite well as it is designed to do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No ice required. You freeze the actual bowl for 15 hours. You will want to chill the ingredients before you make the ice cream

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it does not. You Set the bowl you are using to mix up the ingredients in a larger bowl with ice to keep everything super cold before churning it. But the churner does not require ice. Just make sure you freeze it first.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the bowl is like an ice pack, you freeze it before hand and as you make the ice cream, the bowl freezes the liquid.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it does not. The bowl sits in the freezer to make it cold. The ice cream mixture is then poured into the chilled bowl and placed back into the freezer. No ice necessary.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it does not. It has to be frozen for a long time, bout 14 hours. It has a liquid inside that frozens. Then when the ice cream is prepared, it helps to freeze the icecream evenly.
