- Answer Hello! The Sensor Cook control automatically sets the appropriate cooking time calculated by sensing the moisture level of the food or beverage being cooked. The Sensor Cook control is programmed to cook the following items like Potato, Fresh Veggies, Frozen Veggies, Bacon, Frozen Dinner, Rice, Frozen Breakfast, and Frozen Pizza. Model KMLS311HSS does not have the Air Fry feature.

QuestionI have a Kitchenaid KMLS3311HSS microwave which is vented outside. I just noticed that it did not come with any charcoal filters inside the metal filters. Do I need the charcoal filters if the microwave is vented outside?

- Answer No you do not. If you had them in there, you'd want to remove and toss them. They reduce airflow and collect grease that would otherwise vent to the outside.

QuestionHello, Didn't see this question asked - since it sticks out an additional 3 inches from typical microwave, do the cabinet doors hit it - i.e. damaging them? Both our doors next to microwave open towards it.

- Answer If you mean a double-oven *range* yeas absolutely, that's what we have and it's great. If you mean a double-oven *built-in* in your wall or cabinet stack, way too many modifications would be needed to an OTR unit for this to be workable. There are other build-in microwaves out there designed for your intended location.

QuestionHi - Is there any special amperage (greater than 15 amp breaker) required to install this microwave (e.g. replacing a range hood on 15 amp breaker)?

- Answer Hire a licensed electrician and pull a city electrical permit for the following: Replacing a hardwired range hood you'll likely need to extend your nmb14/3 or nmb12/3 wiring in wall and add an outlet in the wall & cabinet directly above the range hood space. You might have just enough in-wall wire to fish it up into your freshly cut and mounted outlet box, but the wire must extend several inches beyond the new outlet box opening to properly connect the outlet terminals. If it's too short, you'll need to add a junction box where the original range hood wiring emerges from the wall, and add a short section of nmb14/3 or nmb12/3 wire from the junction box to the new outlet box. Yes, electrician+permit+inspection will cost as much as the microwave. Yes, it's worth it.

QuestionPurchased & installed the KitchenAid low profile microwave KMLS311HSS. It is vented to roof.Under the "stainless steel vents" (above my range) are thin black mesh filters.Are these the"grease" filter? Or do they get removed because of roof venting?

- Answer Hi Tina, yes, the vents are grease filters. Inside the Use and Care Guide, page 6 there is a diagram of the grease filter area with care instructions.

- Answer As long as you're not actually blocking the vent intakes or top exhaust, in theory you could do this. In theory. but... A unit designed as a built-in will work out better. And someone, someday, *is* going to fire up that 500cfm blower. At full speed. Possibly for a long time, like, while the kitchen fills with smoke and they panic over whatever it is they're cooking. A safe installation has to build in readiness for that. If you were going to do this in a wall-flush mount, I'd leave at least 4" open space under the unit to access the filter elements, and 1" open over the top. In a 12-15" depth cabinet stack (3-6" of the microwave protruding) the top could be installed flush without blocking the microwave's vents, and the bottom would need just 3" clearance to service the filter elements.
