A:AnswerThe KMCS1016GSS 1.6 cuft microwave is close enough in dimensions (it's 1/4" higher) to fit in the same trim kit as my previous convection model. However, I warn you that I have gone through several "new" units since the convection MW failed. There were problems due to mishandled shipping, sending an inoperative used unit and extremely uneven heating after iinstallation. I'm supposed to be picking up another one tomorrow at Best Buy - this time I will open and test it in their presence!
A:AnswerHello Rmon, please feel free to review the Installation Instructions for more information on the proper installation of this model. We hope this helps. https://bit.ly/3LYfU9Z
A:AnswerHello George, we currently do not make a Stainless Steel countertop Microwave. The only 2 models we have are Black Stainless. You can view those on the website at https://www.kitchenaid.com/major-appliances/microwaves/countertop.html?plp=%3Arelevance%3Acategory%3AMajorAppliancesMicrowavesCountertop%3AinStock%3Atrue&plpView=list. We hope this helps.
A:AnswerQueen, this KitchenAid® Microwave does not include a probe. The sensor cooking means that the Microwave will automatically adjust the cooking time based on a menu of preprogrammed menu driven cycles. We hope this helps!
A:AnswerHello ROBZ. Your current model has a minimum cutout height of 15 inches and the minimum cutout height of model KMCS1016GSS is 17 inches. Because of the differences, the new model will not fit. We apologize for any inconvenience.
A:AnswerHello Harold, This unit should fit into the current cabinet cutouts you have. However the trim kits for the new model are different than the current model and will not be compatible and will require new trim kit to be purchased. We hope this helps.
A:AnswerThe KCMS185J unit has dimensions HxWxD 13 9/16x18 13/16x23 7/8 and the KMCS1016GSS unit has dimensions 13x17 1/4x21 3/4. I could not find the center opening dimensions of your trim kit but it seems from the microwave dimensions that the KMCS1026GSS has smaller size than your original unit. The new unit should fit but will have extra space around the sides and top where you will be able to see into the opening the trim kit is surrounding.
The other thing you should consider is the finish of the trim kit compared to the finish of the microwave unit you are considering.
A:AnswerCoolquestion, this model Microwave has a 30" trim kit MK2160AS and a 27" trim kit MK2167AS available. Please see the installation instructions for cutout requirements: MK2167AS https://go.aws/2Tu8O34 and MK2160AS https://go.aws/3ciEHEl
