• The material seems to be metal and solid. There is a mesh texture that really does resist fingerprints and allow for control. I am fairly confident what is on mine will last for some years.

• I believe it to be solid and not an overlay. There are grooves cut into the steel which gives the handle a nice, clean industrial look.

• Seems solid to me. The entire unit is very solid compared to other microwave range hood combos.
