We had to have our control panel replaced, as it was dispensing water when we were trying to get ice. The technician said that there were issues with the control panels originally that would be fixed when he replaced our control panel. He's coming back again today, because the new panel is still doing the same thing. I think where ever they are getting these control panels, they need look elsewhere. I've never had so many issues with a fridge in the first year and a half of owning one.

There is a function to turn cooling on and off if you hold the LOCK and MEASURED FILL buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. Assuming you've unlocked the control panel (just hold LOCK for 3 seconds), maybe that could be it?
