The first 1/2 cup comes out lukewarm to even warm. After that it is chilled. I keep an extra cup nearby that I remove the first warm bit. I assume it is water in the line that is not near the refrigeration.

That said, the best way to confirm is to put a thermometer in the water and measure the actual temp and compare to water you consider cold enough. What might be cold to me, might be lukewarm for you :)
