I read online that to have a true "flush mounted panel ready dishwasher" only European brands are the correct depth. A common depth is 22 7/8". If the appliance is 24" deep (the same depth as most counter tops) and then you add a wood panel, the appliance will not sit flush with cabinets. I would love to know what KitchenAid has to say about this question. I have called their customer support and they were not able to give me any helpful information. Why would they make the dishwasher 24" deep and then think it will lie properly on the cabinets? This is truly a different look than the traditional dishwasher, which sticks out several inches from the cabinets. The reason we are paying a premium for this is to have it BLEND IN with the cabinets.
