A:AnswerAs far as everyday use, we've had no problems with scratches, but we do our best to maintain our appliances. We've trusted Kitchenaid for almost twenty years. In that time, this is only the second appliance we have had to replace. We have six other Kitchenaid appliances still running strong, including the built-in microwave and oven combo next to our new Kitchenaid refrigerator/freezer that can be seen in the picture below.
A:Answeryou lose a little overall fridge space because of the 2 drawers, very minimal and not sure if you could tell by looking at it and to me it's worth it but depends on your usage
A:AnswerNo, it does not. We needed counter depth as well but ended up removing the studs in a non-load bearing wall and gaining the extra few inches we needed. Maybe a possibility, and this fridge is worth the effort.
A:AnswerI don't know what the actual ice bin size is, but if having plenty of ice available is a priority, this refrigerator should not be your first choice. See my complete review, but in summary the ice bin is pretty small and the ice maker is slow even on the MAX ICE setting. A quick estimate would be that the ice bin is half the size of our old standard Whirpool ice maker and it makes ice about half as fast.
A:AnswerThe unit is 36” wide but when both doors open, it is much wider. We had an opening just over 36” and ended up having the frig stick out past the cabinet so the doors could open fully.
A:AnswerNone. The lights are in the ceiling and along the sides. The lights break and then you don’t have light. I’m replacing all the lights right now and it is not a job for the inexperienced. Hubby is an EE so he will NOT phone a repair man.
