“Just purchased this unit to replace our old JennAir. To our surprise, it appears that the downdraft ventilation location that the JennAir required is NOT compatible with this new unit. We are inches off. Anyone have suggestions on how you approached this?”

It is probably too late for you but may help others. The old Jenn Air had the blower motor assembly sitting vertically. The new models (both Jenn Air and Kitchenaid) have the the blower motors laying horizontally. You get a larger oven space but a major headache on install. Out installer had to locate the ductwork on the left front corner of the unit. Be aware that the new units are longer than the old ones and will stick out from the counter unless you have the room to lengthen the hole by about 3" inches.
