    What a Beauty!

It’s a beauty! I love the way it looks and cooks. And, it bakes exceptionally well. The stainless top is so much easier to clean than the glass top I had before. We had a 30” Jenn-Air downdraft before. I didn’t want to lose cupboard space over the stove to install a fan so we went with another downdraft -- this Kitchen Aid. So far we are very impressed. Glad we made this choice.

I had an old Jennair Range with downdraft that needed replaced. Upon research, I found this to be the only option and I was concerned I didn't have choices. The range is quite pricey but when you see it you will appreciate why the price is so high. It is very well made and doesn't heat up the house when in use. It is very well insulated and you can touch the glass on the oven door after using it at high temperatures. The fan is quiet and the convection baking is spectacular. I was very impressed with the evenness of the baking and how fast it bakes.

I love this range! I wanted to replace my old KitchenAid with a gas top version. Same great electric convection oven! I need the downdraft (which works amazingly) because my range sits where there is no hood. The area around the burners cleans up easily. I have no complaints with this range.

I Replaced an older Jenn air it was mostly about dual fuel and the down draft. However it has a nice appearance and the burners all work , that in itself is nice. The fan system is excellent and I have not tried steam cleaning yet . But all in all a very nice unit for the cost .

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a business. I paid $4285 for my stove 8-2-25, with an expected delivery of 9-02-25. Delivery was delayed to 9-18-25. Nobody showed up on the 18th. The new pretend date is 11-10-25. Love to know how bes t buy treats people so badly and is able to stay open.

KitchenAid range broken on delivery/ poor quality

The first time we turned on the brand new oven we discovered it was broken. The upper oven fan is dysfunctional and the electronic control shuts down the oven automatically when the oven reaches 180. KitchenAid helpline is so busy that you do not get to speak with an agent and you have to leave a message. We got a call back 1 week later. After we explained the problem, the KitchenAid agent scheduled a repairman to evaluate in 1 week. Unfortunately, the repairman got sick and the appointment was canceled. So we are still waiting for service. Quality control at KitchenAid is surprisingly inadequate.

I haven't used the oven yet, the gas top works fine. It's the installations. The contractor for Best Buy even charged for the trim to cover the gaps he left after cutting the counter top, but as you can see it didn't cover the back counter gaps, that extra money should have been included in the original install amount. I would recommend the range but not the installers.

Anyone who has had an older Jenn-Air downdraft slide in range has probably been in the same position-- you have a range in your house that is way less than optimal and if you want to change it or get an upgrade, you can't without incurring more costs around vent improvements. Depending on your kitchen setup, that could be a deterrent to making the change. This unit is compatible with the old downdraft Jenn-Air models and is a significant improvement. You get 4 proper burners on top and the griddle option, all around the downdraft in the middle. Better than two burners and the useless "grill" on the left. This is a better option if you are in that position that demands a downdraft unit. Otherwise, there are cooler ranges out there for the money if you have the proper kitchen configuration. As the unit is new, not much to report from use but initial observations include: -- No problem with center vent "pulling" burner flames or heat away from the burners, as another review I saw indicated. There is proper shielding to prevent this.. -- The griddle works very well, happily surprised. -- Control pad being on the top instead of on the front may not be optimal-- it catches mess and cleaning it could lead to damage or? long term, plus it is touch control so cleaning changes settings, etc. -- In general it feels and looks like a higher end product. Solid, heavy and well designed grates, solid controls, etc.

    Attractive Stove

It's a very attractive stove and we're pleased with the ease of operation. There are very few choices when it comes to a downdraft stove, but this clearly was a good choice. Not much room to do hookups underneath, but it all worked out and made our kitchen island look even nicer.

This is a really nice, very well-made range. However, there are 2 important things to know when purchasing this KitchenAid. 1) It is dual fuel. This means the cooktop uses a gas connection while the oven uses an electric connection. If your previous range was all gas (like mine was), there's a good chance your current outlet will not meet the electrical requirements for this oven. I had to have an electrician update the outlet to accommodate this new range, so make sure you check and make sure yours will work or have the new outlet installed before they come to install it. 2) This range has a downdraft. Chances are, if you're looking at purchasing this range, it's because a downdraft is your only option. The BesBuy team that came to install the range was nice, but they had no idea how to install the down draft system. After speaking with his boss, he told me that he wasn't even allowed to install it. Mt previous range even had a downdraft, so I thought this would be relatively simple. It was very difficult, and I couldn't find anyone to come install the downdraft. I ended up spending a lot of time and frustration installing the downdraft system myself (I'm not good at this stuff at all). In short, this is an amazing oven and a great (if only) option for those of us who need a downdraft system. However, BestBuy can't install the downdraft system. I'm not sure if Sears/Home Depot/Lowes would have been able to fully install this range, but I know BestBuy couldn't. It was very stressful figuring it out on my own, and I find it worrisome that BestBuy will sell and deliver products that they won't fully install.

Very happy with this range. If you're shopping for this in 2021, you probably know that you have very few options if you need a replacement downdraft range. This one and the almost-exactly-the-same JennAir (both made by whirlpool) are your only choices, and neither have been readily available during the pandemic. Literally this one came available for like a day in the fall and I just swallowed and purchased it, and let it sit in the kitchen until I got around to the install. I consider myself something of an expert user of downdraft ranges. We bought our home in 1996, and it had been remodeled in the early 1970s with an electric downdraft jennair. When we did a light remodel of our kitchen in 1999, since we didn't have a hood we stuck with the then-current dual fuel downdraft jennair. That install required a complete re-working of the systems, including upgrading the electric to 220, cutting a new hole in the floor for the downdraft, and running a gas line. That range lasted for 22 years under heavy use, so we figured we got our money's worth. Only reason we replaced it was because the oven control pad was going out button by button, and ultimately the oven started shutting off on its own. Which brings me to this Range. Once again, had to re-engineer everything...3-prong 220 became 4-prong 220, gas needed to be in different location, and this one required yet another new hole for the venting. I thought I could do it, but ultimately I'm not a young man anymore and had to hire a general contractor to do it. It turned into a 2-day job, one guy the first day and two guys the second day. It was about 1/2 inch wider than the one it replaced which required cutting the granite counter for it to fit. With all the work it cost me over $1700 to install the range. Yes, that's a crazy amount but I live in the Bay Area and everything is expensive. The oven takes longer to heat up, but it performs much better than the old JennAir. The burners are much more powerful, and the downdraft works SO much better than the old unit...downdraft efficiency is a game-changer. If you're a downdraft customer, you don't have many choices, and now that this one is installed both my wife and I are very happy.

If you need a gas range that has a build-in oven and downdraft, then you don't have too many choices, buy it. Otherwise, don't buy it because it's expensive and downdraft isn't effective, period.

Heater stopped working after a few years of use

Purchased in 2021. Was happy with it until just recently when it started getting stuck around 300 degrees during preheat. Was out of warranty, so called local repair company. Discovered that the heater element (the most important component with regard to heating the oven) had completely corroded, see photos. Was shocked that something like this would happen to an appliance we paid $4k for just a few years ago. Figured that despite being out of initial warranty, Best Buy would do the right thing to offer some sort of goodwill service or credit. Nope. BB offered us nothing other than a $150 protection plan, nor would KitchenAid lend any hand in the matter. In the end, this would up costing me $500 for parts and labor to fix. What a joke. My wife and I both have Best Buy credit cards which we plan on cancelling.

Overall a great stove. The stainless steel top is much easier to keep clean than my previous black enamel burner pans. The different BTU feature for the individual burners is handy for quick boiling water for a pasta pot, and the low simmer burner works very well for soups, etc. The oven steam cleaning feature has performed well so far. I just have to remember to do it more often than I did with the old high temp cleaning feature. I love the easy glide rack, but wish all three racks had this feature. BEWARE THAT INSTALLATION WAS VERY COMPLICATED AND EXPENSIVE, REQUIRING A PLUMBER TO MOVE THE EXISTING GAS LINE AND FIT THE NEW EXHAUST.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A CAT - Safety Issue

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A CAT. This product is not safe to have in your home if you have cats. My cats were able to turn the oven on when they jumped up onto it. In one instance a cleaning cycle was finishing up when I arrived home. KitchenAid needs to modify the safety controls or change the location of the display. In addition, I cannot recommend Best Buy installation as the installers are unable to provide the level of service required to install a downdraft range. There is a gap in service from the point of purchase and the installation in that if they customer does not know what equipment needs to be purchased for the installers to install the appliance the installers are unable to install the appliance. I had three separate installation events that were unsuccessful and had to go outside of BestBuy to get the appliance installed. I would also recommend inspecting your device upon arrival as the second range delivered to my house had multiple dents. Best Buy and safety issues aside, this range is good quality and gives my place a luxurious feel.
