Q: I have a vented hood and don’t need the downdraft. Does it have to be installed?
A: Be thankful you don't need to install the downdraft since you have a hood. We do not have a hood and spent $3,800 for our downdraft because we have an island and absolutely NO ONE WILL DO THE INSTALL FOR THE VENTING. Best Buy is doing nothing about this and had no problem selling us an expensive range with no one to help us. They ignore our phone calls don't return our calls and this is at the store level. I always loved Best Buy but they have proven themselves to not be an honest retailer. You can only prove how good you are when there is a problem and Best Buy has failed miserably.
Q: Does it come with the venting for downdraft in the sale price?
A: What you need to know about this range is that it is a special installation. It took FIVE tries (scheduling crews, who would show up and say they couldn't do the job) and many, many calls and visits to stores to get this product installed. I purchased installation online when I placed the order. But when the delivery people brought the range, they said they could not install. So if you order this range, you should do it IN STORE, and make sure you are dealing with a knowledgeable person who knows this requires special installation. The standard BestBuy / Geek Squad is not staffed to do these installs. This range replaced an older Jena-Air downdraft at a home that is now a rental property, and my poor tenants were without a range for over a MONTH. In the end, Best Buy gave additional discounts and eventually got it solved, but it was a headache. Again -- go into the store and be sure you're dealing with a product specialist who KNOWS this product and its requirements.

I had an old Jennair Range with downdraft that needed replaced. Upon research, I found this to be the only option and I was concerned I didn't have choices. The range is quite pricey but when you see it you will appreciate why the price is so high. It is very well made and doesn't heat up the house when in use. It is very well insulated and you can touch the glass on the oven door after using it at high temperatures. The fan is quiet and the convection baking is spectacular. I was very impressed with the evenness of the baking and how fast it bakes.

I Replaced an older Jenn air it was mostly about dual fuel and the down draft. However it has a nice appearance and the burners all work , that in itself is nice. The fan system is excellent and I have not tried steam cleaning yet . But all in all a very nice unit for the cost .

It’s a beauty! I love the way it looks and cooks. And, it bakes exceptionally well. The stainless top is so much easier to clean than the glass top I had before. We had a 30” Jenn-Air downdraft before. I didn’t want to lose cupboard space over the stove to install a fan so we went with another downdraft -- this Kitchen Aid. So far we are very impressed. Glad we made this choice.
