You need to find the cleaning mode by pushing the mode button until clean comes up, then mix vinegar and water in the tank I think they recommend a 50/50 mixture and run it through the coffee maker. After doing this flush the coffee maker out by running clear water through it. I removed the coffee filter when I cleaned mine.
