• Cord attached to hand mixer is sufficiently long to be able to use conveniently from plugin sites at a distance from prep areas, yet not so long to become a danger for tangling or dragging on floor to potentially become tripping hazard.

• You can get it either corded or cordless. I went with the corded because it cost less and I have several outlets on my kitchen counter. It has worked great. Of course, I expect a cordless one would be nice as well.
