Avoid these at all costs these are not the old reference line that we were used to. The high end line is now called Reference Premier line. I’ve been high-end audio enthusiast for over 30 years now if you own Forte ii’s I know you’ve been around the block as well the highs are so harsh on these speakers at mid to high volumes they will make you feel as if your ears are bleeding seriously I have heard some garbage in my days but these speakers will straight up damage your hearing. Luckily I’ve got RF 7 iii’s now that is the speaker to buy . Klipsch also has new Forte iii in their heritage line Pretty sure they would be fantastic but still couldn’t see them touching RF 7 iii’s though good luck !
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I will add this second answer to my first. You probably like the wide sound dispersion of your Forte II midrange horns. These new tower speakers are more directional and you would want to point them to your favorite listening position. I am comparing them with my old Klipschorns that I recently retired. One respondent suggest replacing the Forte crossover networks and this is a good idea as the capacitors are probably not good after 25 years. You will also find the new towers to have more emphasis in the highs. Some people are put off by this but with my aged ears I find the crisp emphasis in the highs pleasing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. I just retired a pair of Klipschorn corner horn speakers I've had since 1973. The Klipschorns would put out 110 db at 1 watt input power. I used a 15 watt Trends class T amp for the old Klipschorns. These tower speakers will not come near that efficiency and they will not go with your Forte II. These new towers are great, especially when used with the Klipsch powered subwoofer. But they are not compatible in efficiency with the older Klipsch 3-way horn systems. You're gonna need a bigger amp.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know about your speakers but i had been using my old Heresy speakers. I noticed the sound quality was lacking. I did some research and found out about the internal crossovers that need to be replaced after 20 years or so. The crossovers were not cheap so i went with new speakers. I still kept my Heresys.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A friend of mine recommended Klipsch to me. He said he heard a pair a while back around 25 years ago and he said they were just awesome. He heard these and I'm telling you these things are fantastic. Klipsch has always been known for being a little on the treble side of the spectrum. They redesigned the horn tweeters with the latest and greatest. I tell everyone they need about a month to break in. The woofers are really stiff out of the factory. Everyday they will get better and better. My friends calls them "show offs". Clay
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Definitely consider these. I have been nothing but impressed since I bought mine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is to address the extra high frequency being too strong: one could just drape a a thin cloth over the horns to tone down the highs. Layer a few more cloths until the right attenuation is found.
