I recommend going to your Best Buy store and listen to the demo setup. It lets you push buttons to select among several speakers and you can make your decision. Consider how big your listening space is.

Always go with the larger driver! Great sound for the price. Voice reproduction nice, suprising bass at high volume levels, lacking in the highs a bit. Will get loud and fill a room with sound. Probably ok for a video surround system, but for music you may consider a three way speaker instead.

Spend the extra dough! The 820's are superior. The efficiency rating on a speaker is big to me. The 820's are rated at 97. Bottom line: The 820's are louder and heavier and just....better!
