Digitization quality is fair - BUT MUCH Less expensive then sending it to a "professional to make copies (who charge a fortune and are not responsible for your film). The digitation process is slow - about 3 frames/second (as opposed to projector play time of about 30 frames/second). So be prepared to commit some time to copying the film. If it is old and deteriorating, you don't want to go off and leave it it running, as if the film breaks it will all end up on the floor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.About 20-30 minutes. If you have more than 1 reel spliced together, you may have to stop and adjust the view to eliminate the frame from the view
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For a standard 8mm reel (about 3.5 minutes of video), loading, transfer and rewind takes nearly 45 minutes. Once it’s transferring, which is most of the time, it is automated. Unfortunately 20% of the time the take-up reel stops working and the film goes all over the floor. Seems to be a common problem with this unit. So you can’t really leave it during the transfer. If the take-up reel issue were fixed, it would be automated except for loading and rewind. I think the scanning quality is excellent.
