This film digitizer is well made and works great. It was fairly easy to operate, and the instructions were clear and easy to understand. The quality of the video is good compared to the 8mm film reels. It does take a while to transfer from 8 mm to memory card, but it is worth it. It has an easy to view screen. It has different functions to change the quality of the video. Neat little machine.

An excellent compromise between performance and cost.
My first one failed and the company sent me another. Gives decent transfer of old 8mm film to digital format of old family movies. Easy to use - does the job. Be prepared to spend a lot of time doing the transfer.

Ordered it in the store and it arrived early. Worked as advertised. Feeding the film into the recording screen area is cumbersome but not an issue ran the machine for several hours over 3 weeks. No issue with functionality at all. Transferred several hours of 8mm to digital.

80% of the time it works great. But, the take-up reel intermittently stops. If you’re not watching your film it ends up all over the floor. Otherwise the quality of the transfer is excellent. It does what it says. Too bad about the take-up reel problem.
This seems to be a flaw in the product. Other reviews have the same exact complaint. Kodak needs to own it and offer replacements. Like a car recall. They know there is a design flaw or part deficiency.
I would expect more out of a name like Kodak.

It stopped working after successfully digitizing four 5 minute Super 8 reels. It would turn on and then not allow any navigation at all. Best Buy was terrific in replacing it in just over 1 week. Hopefully I'll have better luck thus time.

Great 8mm to digital converter.

The Kodak REELZ film converter is great. I have been very pleased with this product. It is very easy to use and the operational buttons on the top are clear with a decent size screen. I have been very happy with the digitized videos from my 8mm films although they can be a bit grainy. The quality of the film can influence the graininess but overall I am happy to be able to converter the films myself. If the film has been spliced it can sometimes cause the machine to stall and you have to manually get the film to keep moving. This only happened a few times and wasn't any bother. I only have a few cons. It is sometimes challenging to feed the film through the scanner. You have to be careful to get them under all four small tabs which are not easy to see. It would have been helpful if there was a light on the scanner to illuminated the tabs as you feed through the film. Also, a pause capability while recording would be nice.
