Take out the phone, call up the app., wait (and wait and wait and...) while it locates your lock, hit the lock icon to unlock, wait (and wait...), put down the groceries, search for your keys, ....

It can use wifi to unlock from your phone, but I can't comment in functionality as we don't have it setup that way. Keypad is nice because you don't need your phone to unlock the door.

Please try again later.I haven't purchased Kwikset's gateway yet but it is my understanding that since you will always be in range with the gateway you probably wouldn't need to keep pulling out your phone to awaken it. Without the gateway 50% of the time I have to unlock the door while sitting in my car in the driveway or as a passenger a block away from my house.
