The connected cable is the old Thunderbolt connection, but it comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect. Works perfectly with my Macbook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 connector
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This unit will work with your MacBook Pro without requiring an adapter, by connecting with the included USB-C cable. However, the onboard integrated cable is not going to plug directly into your MacBook Pro without an adapter, assuming your MacBook Pro is like mine & requires adapters for ANYTHING other than USB-C. FYI: This Lacie Rugged mobile storage unit also includes a USB-C to USB-A (USB 3.0) cable. For those who bought the newest MacBook Pro, featuring USB-C ports ONLY...you may have experienced the painful purchasing of dongles-galore to connect accessories you once plugged directly into a previous MacBook Pro model. If you can relate, you might have also gained an appreciation for the value (monetary & other rwise) of the 3 cables Lacie included with this mobile storage unit (1 onboard integrated Thunderbolt cable; 1 USB-C cable; 1 USB-C to USB-A adapter cable). The included cables remove all guesswork, spare the customer added expense, & further equip the user with an additional cable/adapter, or two, for other possible uses.
