“Why doesn't my Vixia HFM30 recognize the battery? I ordered a compatible Lenmar replacement - received the battery today and plugged it into the camera to charge. It seems that the camera does not recognize the battery. I thought a firmware upgrade may be in order (currently 1.0.1.0), but according to the Cannon website the firmware upgrade only addresses high-capacity memory cards. Any ideas?”

Hello! Thank you for your inquiry. Replacement battery model #LIZ302C is compatible with Canon VIXIA HF M30 device. So that leads me to believe you may have a defective item. Model #LIZ302C has a two year warranty applied to it. If you are experiencing problems with your Lenmar product, you may go to Lenmar’s website under the “service and support “ tab fill out the warranty and returns form and we will be happy to replace your unit if it is malfunctioning. I also suggest you take this battery back to BestBuy to be tested. If the battery is indeed defective go ahead a put the warranty in.
