I said the same thing when I bought the laptop in October. It does charge to 100%. The thing is that the laptop should be turned off in order for it to be charging. I know it's weird but that's how it works.

Laptop batteries that are kept at 100% all of the time can rapidly lose their ability to maintain a charge. When the system is very close to fully charged (usually above 95%) and you plug in the power adapter, the system isn't going to charge to preserve the battery functionality. It prevents an extra charge cycle on your battery and makes it last longer.
