The single speaker is on the bottom and it isn't very loud. That seems like an odd location because 9 times out of 10 you will be muffling the sound depending on where you set it down to use it. I am disapointed in the low volume output, but quality is good enough. I don't really want to carry exyternal speakers with me.

Yes, it has stereo sound. A speaker on each side.
