- Answer Yes, it does have a backlit keyboard. Press the function key and the light icon on the left of the spacebar.

- Answer No, the Surface Pen is not compatible with the Flex 5-14. The Flex 5-14 is compatible with active/digital pens made by Bamboo.

- Answer Yes, model number 80XA0009US is compatible with an active/digital pen if you want to use an active pen or you can use your finger.

- Answer My model came with the backlighting option. It comes through as white on the keyboard and is very easy on the eyes when in a dark room. I enjoy being able to turn it off when I don't need it in order to conserve battery.

QuestionDoes this laptop allow virtualization? I would like to be able to download a unix system on it so that I may practice coding shell scripts. But I believe that it would need to allow virtual machine type processing. How would I be able to determine this?

- Answer Usually, in order to do virtualization, you would need at least 8gb RAM minumum, preferably 12gb minimum so since this has 16 gb RAM, this laptop will be good for practicing programming
