- Answer We recommend you check with the software publisher for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements to run their software, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration. You should be able to boot from disk with the Windows operating system on this device.

QuestionThis says it comes with 8mb RAM installed, and has 2 memory slots. Is this one 8mb memory stick (leaving an available slot for an additional 8mb) or 2 x 4mb?

- Answer It is not 8MB - it is 8GB (8,000MB) with two 4GB memory chips in two slots. That is enough for at least one high def movie. If you think that you must have more ram, replace the two 4GB with two 8GB chips.

- Answer You can easily transfer files from one device to another by using a Flash Drive or an external hard drive. Programs will have to be reinstalled only if compatible with Windows 10 operating system.

- Answer My Lenovo ideapad 300 has an HDMI video port as well as the older VGA video port, so assuming you have a conventional common monitor, the answer is yes, you can hook it up to a desk top monitor. The model I got with a 17" screen has proven large enough to not require an external screen at this time.
