There is one replaceable memory card, the other 4gb is mounted on the motherboard. I believe the warranty cannot be voided by repairing or upgrading yourself, electronics right to repair act. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronics_right_to_repair

The maximum RAM this device configuration can support is 12GB. There are 4GB of RAM soldered to the motherboard and there is 4GB of RAM in the one memory slot on this device. Your certified technician can remove the existing 4GB RAM stick from the memory slot and replace it with an 8GB RAM stick, for a system total of 12GB.
