Don't get the warranty. Instead use the money saved to replace the hard drive with a ssd. You will be so much happier and would not buy unless you plan to do so. Replacing is easy to do yourself. Make sure you have the cables to do the transfer. You should be able to find a video online showing how. Or best buy can do for free if you buy from them? I see they have some on sale. Make sure to keep the old drive as a backup. The battery is as advertised or maybe a little less. I am not seeing it as a problem. I purchased when it was $100 off and it is a good deal at that price. Can't help with game question. I see it working just fine with any school work.

We recommend you check with the specific game/software publisher's web sites for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration. A purchased warranty will expand the coverage you have on this device. The limited manufacturer's warranty only covers OEM issues with this device. Check with Best Buy directly about extended coverage plans available. This model ships with a 2CELL 30WH, Lithium Polymer battery, with a battery life up to 5 hours, depending on the work that the device is performing.
