• There may not be a charge left in the battery left from factory charging. Plug the device in, let it charge for approximately 15 minutes, then leaving the device plugged in to continue charging, turn the device on.

• You should let the laptop charge before using it on battery alone. If, after a 24 hour charge it still doesn't work, I'd return it for warranty repair. Could be a bad battery.
