“Lenovo, will you void warranty for any/all hardware upgrades/changes by end users? Please provide links to the policies. A Lenovo Product Expert keeps answering that user upgrades are not allowed on this model. If so, I won't buy due to that policy.”

Yes, this model is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the limited manufacturer's warranty. If you have purchased a 3rd party warranty, check with the insurer for their policy.
