Yes, except for the lower battery capacity of 30WHr, so the mobile duration will be lower than other available devices. If need longer mobile duration on battery power, more than a few hours, I suggest research products with better battery capacity & mobile duration. If only a few hours like 2-4 is okay, then this device is a great value otherwise. It's also a matter of cost versus performance. On sale, this laptop is a great value for the hardware, except the battery. 30WHr is the lowest battery capacity I've seen in laptops this size (15"). Even many lower model budget laptops. This model hardware spec.s & performance are better than most of them, except the battery. If there are higher capacity battery options, that could make it more useful for longer mobile use. Or if external battery power/charging is available via USB port, then an external battery bank/charger could be used to extend battery duration. Students/people in classes may not have external power connections/plugs/outlets available, so may need to have longer mobile battery power duration. Be careful of suggestions about setting very restrictive power controls/profiles, that may drastically reduce performance, to get sufficient mobile battery duration. Since many other computers have greater battery capacities & durations without having to greatly reduce performance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it should work well for a college student, good speed SSD performance
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a fast machine. It runs our LED video display very well, so I would say it would work fine for College work. Just depends on what they are doing. The biggest drawback is the storage space is small. There is only 128GB and the majority is taken by the OS, so expect to use external drives, or work from the Cloud using Dropbox/OneDrive/Google Drive, etc...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As a college student, this laptop is perfect. Unless you will be running programs that take a lot of ram. Then I would not recommend it. For simple tasks like writing papers and YouTube, it’s a perfect match. 8 GB of ram is more than enough for papers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That will depend on the programs the student will need to install and the workload of the student. We recommend you check with the student for the specific software they will need to use on their new computer, then check that specific software publisher's web site for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.
