Another alternative is using a HDMI cable that offers both audio & video through 1 cable. I quit buying standard "Video Monitors" and now buy Televisions with HDMI inputs. This also saves desk space, cable clutter and 1 AC outlet for the external speaker power supply. Other, Great advantages are that TV's are usually less expensive than monitors and come with remotes to control power, volume & inputs for other sources like Direct TV or Security Cameras. TV's also usually have the capability of being mounted on a stand or in my case a swing arm. I hope my suggestion helps! TER
