This Lenovo Chromebook 3 14 uses Google Docs for office type programs. Google Docs is completely compatible with Microsoft Office Programs and this is a free service through the Google Server (Google Sheets is the equivalent to Excel and Google Docs is the equivalent to Word). If you must have the actual Microsoft Office Programs, you can purchase Microsoft Office 365 for this Chromebook at the Google Play Store.

Docs is the Google version of Microsoft Word and saves in the .doc and .docx format. The same goes for Sheets as Excel .xls and PowerPoint is slides or .ppt. Microsoft Office is sold for a monthly cost as Word 365. Yes, if you want Microsoft productivity software, you must subscribe as you would for any computer. However, Google and Microsoft offer the software for free with limited storage to be used as web based only. The Windows operating system like Windows 10 and Windows 11 do not work on a Chromebook. Chromebook is its own web based operating system by Google.
