“I read all the questions and am confused does this have 2 DIMM spots - 1 being taken by 4gb of ram or does it only have one DIMM spot and the 4gb needs to be removed and replaced.”

This system has one DIMM slot. It has the 4GB of RAM in it for this configuration. The maximum RAM this system can support is 16GB in the one slot.
