“Can I download pictures from a memory stick such as a sandisk memory card by inserting the card into the laptop? I do not want to download wirelessly / bluetooth but by inserting the sandisk card into the laptop. Does it have a slot for a sandisk card?”

Yes, this system does have a SD card slot.
