Yes, there is a spot where you can install a mechanical HDD, but it must be a 2.5" form factor (laptop) HDD, not a 3.5" form factor (desktop) HDD. In regards to the question about memory, the motherboard only has 2 memory slots, and both of those come filled with 4 GB DDR4 memory. If those are removed, you could replace them with two larger memory sticks - keep in mind, when adding memory, you will want two equal-sized sticks of the same type, one for each paired slot. Also, since this is a compact form-factor tower, I would recommend keeping it simple - no big, bulky gaming memory sticks. The motherboard is rated for up to 24 GB of memory.
