If the DVD is a commercial movie DVD, you will need to install Media Player software to read the commercial movie format. Media Player software does not come pre-installed with Windows 10 Home operating system.

We've not had a problem, we had the geek squad install all of the software. It works perfectly, take it in to the geek squad, you'll be happy you did.
