Yes, it just a windows 10 machine. You can turn off updates through the control panel.

Type "turn off automatic updates" in the search window. Click on "Turn off automatic updates" in the list of choices. Follow the instructions to turn off automatic updates. You will still get a notice when there is an update for your system. You will get to the time when the update occurs. Be sure to create a restore point before you allow the update in case there are issues with the update.
