You will need to get an adapter for sure but maybe not a converter. I would check the country you plan on visiting. Our Power grids run anywhere between 100V to 240V on a Frequency of 50 to 60 Hz. Check the power cord first to make sure it has this capability then check with the countries' power grid to see if it falls between the voltage and Hz ratings. While I was in Germany, all I needed was the adapter for my laptop. I did not need a converter. In Ireland, I needed both the adapter and converter. Hope this helps.
