It is backward compatible to older b/g/n frequency routers, but it will connect to these older frequencies at 2.4GHz not 5.0Ghz frequency. 802.11AC is the fastest WiFi frequency currently available and it is 5G (5th Generation) WiFi.

The maximum RAM this configuration can support is 8GB, so your certified technician can replace the existing RAM with 8GB.
