There is a 30-day trial of McAfee Virus Protection software installed on this model. It will activate automatically with the initial activation of Windows 10, to give your computer virus protection immediately and for the 30-days of the trial period. You do not need to use McAfee. You can uninstall McAfee and use either the free Windows Defender virus protection that comes with Windows 10 or install your own choice of a 3rd party virus protection software. Just uninstall McAfee first, as there can only be one active virus protection software on the computer at a time.
