Hello, JV. With this Slim's dual fan cooling system with heightened clearance under the computer, there are features in place to help keep the computer as cool as possible – even under strenuous workloads. While computers can overheat, with cooling performance in mind, your Slim 7i shouldn't have this problem so long as the device doesn't have any obstructions preventing the air intake and exhaust from performing their normal functionality.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve had one for about a month now with regular usage. It has not overheated at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does not. I played Horizon Zero Dawn for hours on it, flat on a regular table, and it got warm as basically all laptops do but it did not ever impact performance in the game and, in my opinion, the fans are not horribly loud although of course they do ramp up and run steady during gaming. For what its worth, when I do the same gaming using an external GPU via the thunderbolt port the machine runs cool as a cucumber. To generally avoid excess heat, don't block the fans and grate on the bottom (don't run it on a blanket or soft air restrictive surface), disable fast-charging for the battery, and don't run it in the "performance mode" power plan unless you actually need max performance (hint, for basic day to day work and youtube you don't need the CPU at full throttle).
