Yes, you should be able to connect your external CD/DVD reader-writer to the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 2--14. You need to install any drivers that either came with the drive or from the LG web site. The drivers must be compatible with Windows 10. This sounds like you need to install the Windows 10 driver on the system.
