8GB is the maximum RAM for this configuration. It is soldered. The existing hard drive configuration is 256 GB SSD - (M.2) PCIe - TCG Opal Encryption 2, NVM Express (NVMe). Since this is a refurbished device, we recommend you check with Best Buy to see if there is a warranty provided and if the user is allowed to upgrade the device without voiding the warranty.
