• This model has an m.2 expansion slot at the top end of the internal HDD, and that slot can be used as an SSD expansion. I would (and will) add the SSD for boot and save the HDD for data storage.

• Yes, it can be ordered with an SSD and there is an empty slot waiting for it if yours comes with the 1 TB HD

• The device has an m.2 slot for a SATA drive and/or you could replace the HDD with a SATA. Your Choice. I would lean towards adding an m.2 SATA and keeping my HDD for storage.
