• The newer ones have metal, but the older ones have cloth, either is a good option, just a diffrent look to it is all.

• There are two versions of this laptop, one with a metal top and one with a fabric top. I bought the metal one through this listing and believe the fabric one has a different listing, but internally they are identical.
