the M3 is a bit faster than the i5 gen-4- U-level processor, and nearly six months newer than the atom x7-z8700's release date. M3 has hyper threading, so the quadcore on the x7 means nothing in comparison. battery saving features are vastly improved with the M3, and can intelligently offer more maximum performance than the x7. the memory controller on the M3 is also much faster than the x7. graphics performance on the M3 is better than the x7, by a small margin. turbo boost is on M3 is 2.2GHz and 2.4GHz on the x7, hardly anything to brag about. the M3 is more inline with an equivalent i3-u processor, with very good battery saver features.

I think battery will last longer with M3-6Y30) Atom PROS: Quad Core (4 physical) - (M3-6Y30 is a different quad core design. 2 physical with 2 logical cores per physical) Slightly faster processor. (Have not tested so can't say really if you will notice the difference. Have tested the M3-6Y30 and speedy enough for me)
